Lesson Plan - Level 2
We are teaching the language in “Immersion method” which means that you should not use English or any other language to teach Sourashtra.
Focus on pronunciation. Never discuss the origin of the words. (Lot of Tamil words that we are using are derived from Sanskrit).
Don’t change the words of Sourashtra Dialects/accept the way the student speaks.
Avoid English translation or word to word translation in the class.
All these lessons are to be taught in a few weeks each. Add your creativity and imagination to elaborate the lessons. No need to rush.
Practice combining each of the word in sentences as long as needed.
To make the students feel positive, we should say “we learned this, do you remember” instead of saying “you forgot what was taught”. No negative comments.
This lesson plan is a guideline. Go with the flow of the class and student’s mood, you could mix any different parts or in different order in one class. This will make it more interesting to all of us!
Always have some stories or songs for gap fillers.
